Welcome to In Lak'ech Project Inc.

In Lak'ech is a Mayan greeting which means simply, "I am you, you are me. We are all connected". It is in this spirit that In Lak'ech Project was born. After visiting Costa Maya on a family cruise, two weeks later the area was hit and devastated by a Category 5 Hurricane in August 2007.

I watched others going to the aid of Mahahual and Costa Maya but, I noticed that no one was providing medical help. My first mission was to get a wheelchair to a little boy, Ivan, who lived in the community. He inspired me to find a way to provide health care in an area where little was provided. Shortly after that, I flew into Cancun and drove 5 hours south to bring Mahahual medical supplies. In Lak'ech Project grew in both ideas and spirit from that point forward. Providing for the medical needs of the Yucatan Peninsula has become my passion.

Not only is In Lak'ech Project centered on helping the Yucatan, it also helps the environment. The medical community in the US discards medical supplies at an alarming rate. There is a huge volume of medical items that are new, unused or perfectly recyclable that is discarded in the US. I have learned to take those items and put them to good use in other countries where there is a need. Everyone wins here.

In Lak'ech Project is a 100% volunteer organization. There are no salaries to any board member including myself; all of your donations go to the cause. We have full 501c3 status with the IRS making all donations tax deductible.

Be a part of In Lak'ech by volunteering, donating, or just give back to the community in your own way. Be thankful for all you have in life. Remember I am you, you are me. We are all connected.
